Teachers of the Department of Journalism and Ukrainian Studies took part in a three-day webinar “Interactive Forms and Methods in Teaching Journalism Disciplines”, organized by the Academy of Ukrainian Press with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom.
Together with the trainers, the participants transformed the old lecturer-mentor role model into a mentor-trainer-partner model, and tried out various author’s exercises, games, reflective experiments, brainstorming sessions, quizzes, watching videos, and reviewing resonant cases.
On the second day of the webinar, the academic staff shared their impressions of using these exercises with their students.
It’s hard to change your mindset in 9 hours of webinar. Those who were motivated to improve the educational process, especially in the difficult conditions of the pandemic and then the war, which did not make life easier for either students or teachers, saw and heard a lot of useful things.
