A guest lecture was held for students of the specialty 014.01 “Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature)” of the Department of Journalism and Ukrainian Studies, which became a kind of delicto-linguistic holiday for them and their professors. The lecture allowed us to recall the peculiarities of oral speech in the northern Luhansk region, which is currently undergoing linguistic transformations. In fact, the idea of deformation of the language space of Ukraine is being realized there.
The lecture “Ukrainian Eastern Slobozhansky Dialects: Experience, Study” was delivered by Valentyna Lesnova, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Ukrainian Language Department of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. The speaker introduced the dialectological school of the university, reminded the audience that Luhansk region is the territory of the Southeastern dialect, familiarized them with the scientific work of leading dialectologists of this area, and confidently emphasized that Ukrainian Luhansk dialects are alive and will continue to live as long as our indomitable people live.
