Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Ukrainian Studies Iryna Koshman took part in a two-day training on the Women, Peace and Security Agenda and Media Participation.
The event was organized by the NGO “Siverskyi Donets Crisis Media Center” and held in Uzhhorod. Under the guidance of gender expert Ms. Mariana Kolodii, representatives of universities and media from Luhansk region had a fruitful discussion on the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 “Women, Peace and Security”, 1325 topics in Ukrainian media, the content and components of the concept of gender equality and androcentrism and sexism in the practice of national and local media.
The training was supported by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as part of the project “Women, Peace, Security: Local Problems, Local Solutions” implemented by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund.
