A student of the Department of Practical Psychology and Social Work joined the work of the Samaritan Union of Ukraine (Kyiv Association), which operates within the framework of an international project supported by the German Foreign Ministry and the Association of German Samaritans (ASB).
In the mobile team, together with the Union’s employees, Iryna works in Kyiv and Kyiv region to provide psychosocial support and assistance to children with disabilities, the elderly, including those with disabilities. Such support is also provided to internally displaced persons in difficult life circumstances.
Psychosocial assistance is provided in the form of group sessions and/or individual consultations with specialists, including at home (for people with disabilities and limited mobility).
Particular attention is paid to children with autism and mental retardation, who have reduced opportunities for social interaction.
