Students of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University have enrolled in the course “Russia in the Balkans: Humanitarian Expansion, Disinformation and Propaganda”, which was launched by the Analytical Center for Balkan Studies. The co-founder of the Center is a senior lecturer at the Department of Journalism and Ukrainian Studies
Nataliia Malynovska, who will also be a lecturer at the course.
“This course addresses the following issues: Russian disinformation and propaganda in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine and the Balkan states, as well as improving the image of Russia in the Balkans and promoting the “Russian world” through its humanitarian expansion,” says Kateryna Shymkevych, Head of the Balkan Studies Center.
The course is designed for a wide range of students interested in the Balkan region. This time, the course was attended by students not only from Ukraine (Kyiv region, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Zaporizhzhia region), but also from the UK, Sweden (Stockholm), and Croatia (Zagreb).
