Representatives of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University took part in the public dialogue “Genocide of the Crimean Tatar people and ways to overcome its consequences”.
The extremely important event in the conceptual confrontation with Russia’s genocidal policy was organized by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center and the National Museum of the Holodomor and dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the deportation of Crimean Tatars from their homeland.
The speeches of the participants of the public dialog demonstrated the commonality of values of Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians as a single political nation formed in the crucible of this war.

On May 18, 1944, the Soviet regime began deporting the entire Crimean Tatar people from Crimea to Central Asia. Over the course of three days, about 200,000 Crimean Tatars were forcibly deported in dozens of railroad cars.
