Teachers of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University took part in the First International Virtual Conference ‘Using Evidence-Based Research for Ukraine’s Development’.
The event brought together almost 100 participants from around the world and was dedicated to the current problems of Ukraine’s development against the backdrop of Russia’s full-scale invasion, whose actions have significantly affected international events, the socio-economic and environmental situation in the country and its position among other states in the world political arena in the context of modern global transformations. Among the main discussion panels of the conference:
- challenges and policies during martial law;
- international trade;
- the country’s economy and the problems of its recovery;
- peculiarities of the labour market, finance and IT technologies;
- energy and environmental security;
- the role of creative industries in the country’s post-war recovery;
- education and hospitality in the context of sustainable development;
- current challenges for the population of Ukraine and migration processes.
The University’s academics presented the results of their research on the topic ‘The Experience of European Education and the Importance of Teaching Democratic Values to Ukrainian Refugee Students’. As part of the report, the speakers presented the results of a sociological survey of Ukrainian teachers and schoolchildren who are temporarily staying in Estonia and are involved in the European format of the educational process in the context of fostering established democratic values and forming their own positive experience and relevant skills that will be useful upon their return to Ukraine.
