Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Ecology Iryna Kravchenko joined the webinar organized by the International Water Association on September 16, 2024. The purpose of the event was to consider the pros and cons of different methods of measuring nitrous oxide N2O and related parameters that affect N2O formation, in particular to find out what measurement methods are available to quantify nitrous oxide emissions and how the location of sensors and equipment, as well as related practical issues, affect data quality.
The webinar showcased the latest measurement technologies for nitrous oxide measurements, as well as the challenges that operators face in practice. Both off-gas and liquid phase N2O measurements were discussed, as well as available AI-based sensors for nitrous oxide assessment – all from an instrumentation and automation perspective.
