Training in humanitarian demining

Nelya Talanova, Ecology student, received certification as an Internationally Recognized Instructor in Explosive Ordnance Risk Education.

The training  was organized by The HALO Trust, the world’s largest humanitarian demining organization. HALO’s mission is to protect lives and restore livelihoods of people affected by conflict.

HALO accomplishes this mission by clearing areas of landmines and other explosive ordnance, allowing people to safely rebuild their lives after war.

After completing the course, Nelia Talanova will conduct sessions and classes with the public on mine risk to raise awareness of the issue.
