The Economics of Sustainable Development from Harvard Scholars and Practitioners

Inna Semenenko, Professor of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship and Head of the Resource Center for Sustainable Development, has successfully completed the Harvard University course “Leadership for Ukraine’s Sustainable Recovery.” The course was organized by Dr. Linda Tomasso and Dr. Jess Spangler, professors at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The course lasted for three months and included such topics as Shared Leadership, Sustainability in Infrastructure Restoration, Public-Private Partnerships, Life Cycle Analysis, Transition to Green Energy, and many others.

The lecturers and curators were Harvard University professors, as well as practitioners and representatives of various international institutions working to restore Ukraine. The activities of the Harvard Office of Sustainability, presented by its leaders Heather Hendrickson and David Havelick, and best practices for promoting sustainability at universities were also presented. The knowledge and best practices gained will be disseminated as part of the course “Economics of Sustainable Development” taught at the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship, as well as within the activities of the Sustainable Development Resource Center.
