The next event was a training on practical fundraising and grantwriting from Andrii Torba, a security and rewards specialist at the Communications Transformation in Ukraine Project. As part of his work, the specialist is involved in the evaluation and selection of grant applications, as well as monitoring and reporting on grant projects.
Andrii told the master’s students about: the sequence of preparation and submission of a grant application, key features of a properly prepared project concept; problem tree and how to use this tool to analyze the problem that the project aims to solve; analysis of project stakeholders and strategies for engaging with stakeholders for successful project implementation; formulation of project goals and how they correlate with results; grant life cycle and description of a typical grant program. At the end of the lecture, Andriy spoke about the key donors currently working in Ukraine and discussed with the students where to look for opportunities for resources and grant projects.
