Faculty members of the Faculties of Engineering and Transport and Civil Engineering of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University took part in the fifth virtual conference of Wiley Analytical Science (WAS), which aims to bring together researchers and industry professionals to discuss the latest achievements in science and industry.
They discussed the latest methods and achievements in microscopy, life sciences, laboratory automation and equipment, pharmaceuticals, food science, spectroscopy and much more.
In the first webinar, speakers focused on new technological advances and best practices in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) that reduce downtime and increases laboratory productivity. The fundamental issue of dealing with helium shortages without compromising system performance was addressed, smart mega-methods of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (HPLC-MS) for pesticide analysis and screening of 500 pesticides using the intelligent “Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer 6475” were presented. Also, the speakers analyzed the detection capabilities of the system and instrument configuration, the use of instrument intelligence to assist in method development and maintain instrument stability, key characteristics of instrument intelligence to ensure its maximum performance.
The webinar participants presented the hermetically sealed SmartVane rotary vane vacuum pump developed by Pfeiffer Vacuum, which guarantees absolutely no oil leakage or contamination. SmartVane serves as a forevacuum pump for mass spectrometers (ICP-MS, LC/MS) in the field of environmental analysis, in particular in pharmaceutical and clinical analytics.
This webinar provided valuable tips on vacuum pumps for mass spectrometry systems with less pollution, noise and power consumption.
The conference was attended by Acting Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Production and Technology Vadym Tarasov, Associate Professor Olha Zakharova, Head of the Department of Railway, Road Transport and Lifting and Transport Machines Andrii Klymash.
