Teachers of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University will teach English to teenagers from IDP families for free

Acting Head of the Department Alona Bovt and Associate Professor of the Department of Germanic and Romance Philology and Translation Iryna Afonina became participants in the U.S. Embassy’s project “Learning English – Overcoming Stress: Free English for Ukrainian children affected by war”. The goal of the project is to provide free interactive online English classes for teenagers from IDP families affected by war.

Teachers of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University will teach English to teenagers from IDP families for free

Classes (different from the school curriculum) will allow each participant to receive 120 additional online hours of English language learning. There will also be 15 hours of online training on conflict resolution and coping with displacement, as well as psychological and social online training. In total, the project organizers plan to reach more than 300 children.

The program is an initiative of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and is implemented with the support of the NGO “UCGI Svitlo”.
