The forum was dedicated to the activities of Ukrainian territorial communities during the war, their recovery, reconstruction and further sustainable development, including with the support of European partners.
The forum was organized by Cities 4 Cities | United 4 Ukraine, partner initiatives that joined forces in September 2022. The Strategic Municipal Partnership Forum in Sindelfinden, Germany, was supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The forum discussed the problems of Ukrainian territorial communities and their need for European experience in the process of rebuilding Ukraine. It is to facilitate the speedy recovery of communities that the forum planned cooperation between communities in Ukraine and the EU.
During the forum, Inna Semenenko facilitated a meeting of Ukrainian and Dutch municipalities within the framework of the VNG International project “Support to the Restoration of Local Self-Government and Community Recovery and Reconstruction in Ukraine”. The purpose of this meeting was to introduce representatives of Ukrainian communities and Dutch municipalities to each other and establish contacts between them, as well as to discuss possible overlap and relevance of the needs of recovery of Ukrainian communities and the experience and knowledge of Dutch municipalities, to identify possible ways of cooperation in the future for sustainable development.
