What do teachers need in difficult times?

The course was aimed at addressing the urgent needs of teachers affected by the conflict within the framework of the Global Program “Language for Resilience”. The course focused on the following issues

– trauma and its impact on learning, behavior and thinking;

– identifying teaching strategies that meet the needs of the student;

– working with very difficult behavior, interaction between teacher and student;

– reasons why students do not feel safe in the classroom;

– creating a safe space in the classroom.

The classes were held at the University of Coventry (UK), which opened a new campus in September 2020 in Wroclaw (Poland). It was very important and symbolic for the representative of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University to attend the course with the opportunity to immerse herself in the atmosphere of British education.
