Preparing to compensate for environmental damage caused by military aggression

Yuliia Hurova, a PhD student of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Ecology, specialty 101 Ecology, represented Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University at the round table discussion “The Problem of Environmental Protection during the War and Post-War Reconstruction of Ukraine”, which was held online with the participation of representatives of five Ukrainian higher education institutions.

The topic of Yuliia’s report: Research on the activities of displaced environmental NGOs and activists in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

At the common platform, teachers and students of higher education institutions gathered to share their thoughts and experiences on the environmental impact of military operations, opportunities for compensation, protection of environmental rights of Ukrainian citizens, environmental monitoring, and non-discrimination of residents of industrial regions during the post-war reconstruction of the country.
