Future translators attended a webinar on “Military translation and how to develop in it. Basic training in military translation as an opportunity to acquire competencies” organized by the Ukrainian Association of Translators.
An experienced military translator and teacher, Major Ivan Nevmerzhytskyi, introduced the students to the Basic Military Translation Training project, recommended glossaries and textbooks, and spoke about the opportunities for civilian translators to contribute to the approaching victory by working in the field of military translation.
The importance and relevance of the topic was evidenced by the participation of more than 200 participants from Ukraine, Lithuania, Chile, Belgium, the UK, the USA and other countries, who discussed the relevance of military translation in the current situation, prospects for development in the industry, risks and difficulties, shared their own experience in this field and the problems they faced.
