The Center for Veteran Development was opened at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.
Rector of VDEUNU, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olha Porkuian, opening the event, noted: “Our country is going through extraordinary tests. War causes tragedies on both the national and personal levels. Our fellow citizens-veterans need help and support, and therefore VDEUNU in this building, which we recently acquired, opens the Veterans Development Center. We believe that this is very important. The university has sufficient organizational, scientific and human potential to provide a full range of social and rehabilitation services for veterans from Luhansk Region and their families.”
“The center will become a powerful hub for the implementation of state veteran policy, because here in the capital there are many IDPs from Luhansk region – in particular, these are the families of our defenders. And also – a training center for qualified specialists who will help former military personnel return to civilian life. The profile of the VDEUNU is law, finance, business management, psychology – will help our veterans acquire the necessary skills in order to become successful in civilian life again,” said the head of the Luhansk region, Artem Lysogor.
