A team of university scientists visited the research and production complex of PLAZMATEK Group, a domestic manufacturer of welding electrodes, in Rubnytsia village, Vinnytsia Oblast.
Representatives of the university got acquainted with innovative methods of restoring parts and equipment on the example of restoring a worn part of a railway rail by surfacing with welding electrodes. The equipment used to restore worn parts, the technology, welding electrodes, and software for controlling the parameters of the surfacing process were developed by specialists and scientists of the welding laboratory of PJSC “PLAZMATEK”.
During the visit, the parties discussed cooperation between the university and the enterprise to further promote the developed industrial technology for the restoration of worn railway rails by surfacing with electrodes, given that the restoration of railway rails is cost-effective and highly productive.
The team of university researchers includes Oleksii Tselishchev, Vice-Rector for Research, Hryhorii Boiko, Head of the Research Department, Serhii Kudriavtsev, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Maksym Kovtanets, Associate Professor of the Department of Railway, Road Transport and Hoisting and Transport Machines, and Andrii Smorodin, representative of the University Supervisory Board.
