Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University scientist takes part in VNG International conference in The Hague

Head of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship Inna Semenenko took part in the international conference VNG International in The Hague.

VNG International is the Agency for International Cooperation of the Association of Municipalities of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which provides advisory and expert assistance in strengthening democratic local government in developing countries and countries with economies in transition. Each year, VNG International holds an international conference that brings together experts and scholars from around the world to share their experience in building effective public administration, sustainable community development, and activities in countries experiencing conflict and migration.

During the conference, Inna Semenenko took part in several sections, including the one held within the framework of the Sustainable Development through Improved Local Governance program, where she presented the challenges and opportunities for the restoration and sustainable development of Ukrainian territorial communities during and after the war. Among the key aspects was the importance of involving community residents, as well as the expert support of university researchers in various aspects of recovery.

As a result of the conference, preliminary agreements were reached on signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the University and VNG International for further work and involvement of teachers and students in the processes of restoring the territorial communities of Ukraine, as well as involving guest lecturers in the educational process at the University.
