A methodological seminar “Assessment of Academic Achievement of Higher Education Applicants” was held in a remote format for teachers of the departments of the Faculty of Agriculture. The event was moderated by Acting Dean of the Faculty Liliia Martynets and Acting Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Geodesy and Land Management Oleksii Ovcharenko.
Speakers presented the conceptual apparatus of the credit-modular system of organizing the educational process. The main types and methods of assessment were disclosed, and an example of assessment of program learning outcomes of educational components was given. Examples were used to analyze the methods of assessing the knowledge of higher education students in the disciplines in which the curriculum provides for an exam or a test. Oleksii Ovcharenko shared his experience of conducting assessment using the Moodle platform, focusing on the development of various types of testing with the corresponding scores.
During the seminar, participants used an online whiteboard to discuss in groups the criteria for evaluating various types of work. At the end of the seminar, a brainstorming session was held, during which the teachers identified certain norms and rules for assessing the academic achievements of higher education students in the case of repeated passing of control forms. In particular, the teachers focused on maintaining the quality of higher education and the quality of educational activities at the faculty.
The participants also discussed current issues on the topic.
