Representatives of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University took part in a moderated discussion on “Using the potential of relocated eco-organizations in new communities” in Cherkasy.
1) “Study of the activities of displaced environmental NGOs and activists in Donetsk and Luhansk regions”. The researchers of the project are: Inna Semenenko, Head of the Department of Economics and Entrepreneurship, Head of the Resource Center for Sustainable Development at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University; Serhii Kudriavtsev, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Head of the NGO “Space Foundation”; Yana Bilous, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration, Management and Marketing at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University; Olha Zhydkova, public activist, Head of the NGO “Impact Center VOSTOK. UA”;
2) development of an environmental profile of the Kalush city territorial community in Lviv Oblast within the framework of the Community Eco-Profile project. The project was developed in cooperation with the Kalush City Council: Serhii Kudriavtsev, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, Head of the NGO “Prostir Foundation”; Yana Bilous, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration, Management and Marketing at Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University; Olha Zhydkova, public activist, Head of the NGO “Impact Center East.UA”.

The participants of the event also highlighted ideas and practices that were implemented in the communities that received internally displaced eco-activists; analyzed the social and economic effect of engaging the potential of IDPs in communities during martial law; showed how useful the proactive position of relocated NGOs can be for new communities; and outlined areas for further activities in the context of Ukraine’s recovery and European integration.
