Professors of the Department of Journalism and Ukrainian Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University together with students majoring in Secondary Education (Ukrainian Language and Literature) took part in the webinar “Olena Pchilka – a view from the present”.
The event was held as part of the webinar series “The Color of Ukrainian Pedagogy: Present and Past” organized by the Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. The webinar was attended by more than 200 admirers of Olena Pchilka’s work.
The audience listened with interest and enthusiasm to the speaker’s speech. Iryna Shchukina, head of the research department for the study of Lesia Ukrainka’s life and work at the Museum of Outstanding Ukrainian Cultural Figures of Lesia Ukrainka, Mykola Lysenko, Panas Saksahanskii, and Mykhailo Starytskyi. The winner of the Olena Pchilka Literary and Art Prize immersed the audience in the fascinating world of Olena Pchilka and her family, and shared little-known facts from the artist’s life.
The highlight of the event was the song “In Memory of Schubert’s Serenade” (lyrics by Olena Pchilka, music by Franz Schubert) performed by People’s Artist of Ukraine Ivan Derda.
