Students and faculty of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University joined the eighth Donbas Media Forum held in Kyiv.
The purpose of the event was to focus on the reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as the rights of people who currently live there.
The event was held offline and featured live streaming of the main stages, where journalists and media managers discussed the challenges and problems of modern journalism. Media professionals also raised the topic of transformations taking place in the Ukrainian media environment.
The event was attended by leading Ukrainian media, and much attention was paid to the forum’s issues by regional journalists and various journalistic institutions. The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine was the government partner of the event.
Students and faculty of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University also actively participated in the event as guests and volunteers.
Olena Popova, Head of the Department of Journalism and Ukrainian Studies, was a speaker on the second day of the forum. Ms. Popova and her colleagues discussed the professional education of journalists and how Ukrainian media can solve the problem of human resources.
