Participation in the European Youth Week

Olena Kozmenko, Professor of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, was invited to attend the central event of the European Youth Week at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium, organized jointly with the European Commission.

European Youth Week is organized every two years to celebrate and promote the involvement, participation and active citizenship of young people across Europe and beyond. This year’s event was attended by over 800 participants from 36 countries (https://youth.europa.eu/youthweek_en). The organizers invited representatives of youth organizations and the educational community to communicate, participate in panel discussions and workshops, share their views on how to engage young people in democracy and encourage them to vote in the next European elections.

The participation of the representative of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University in this event contributed to the dissemination of information about Ukraine in general and the University’s activities to foster democratic values among higher education students, in particular, drew attention to the problems of Ukrainian education and helped to establish new ties with European youth organizations.
