Representatives of the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University took part in the Final Conference of the EPAIU Initiative: “Challenges for the work of environmental NGOs in the context of war, recovery and European integration”, which took place in Kyiv.
The purpose of the Final Conference was to highlight the trends in the development of the environmental public environment and the attitude of citizens to environmental issues in Ukraine, the prospects for the long-term institutional development of civil society organizations working on environmental issues, the challenges that eco-activists face in modern realities, and what tools are available to the public to influence the solution of environmental problems, recovery planning, and European integration processes.
The event was attended by Serhii Kudriavtsev, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Yana Bilous, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Administration, Management and Marketing.
Serhii Kudriavtsev took part in the discussion within the thematic panel of the conference “Work of Environmental Organizations in the Regions of Ukraine: Achievements and Challenges”. The discussion covered the importance of mini-grants on environmental issues, the need for pitching the activities of young CSOs from the regions, expanding partnerships between regional and national CSOs, and the prospects for coalition activities of CSOs in the environmental field in Ukraine.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine, CSOs that implemented EPAIU grants, and other IRF partner organizations with experience in environmental activities in communities and in formulating community development strategies and environmental programs, as well as invited environmental experts.
The final conference was organized by the International Renaissance Foundation within the framework of the Environmental Policy and Advocacy Initiative for Ukraine (EPAIU) with financial support from Sweden.
