A regular meeting with fundraising experts from the Ukrainian Catholic University was held within the framework of the project “Strengthening the Fundraising Capacity of Displaced Universities” under the program “Strengthening Displaced Ukrainian Universities for Sustainable Development” implemented by the Fulbright Program in Ukraine. This time, the teams of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University and Mariupol State University met with Andrii Khimyak, Deputy Head of the Development Department of the Ukrainian Catholic University.
Andrii Khimyak spoke about Ukrainian Catholic University’s experience in fundraising, noting that 59% of the university’s budget is formed in this way. In particular, Andriy noted the factors of successful fundraising, how the activity of attracting resources is organized, the university team, and the tools used by the team. Examples of annual events organized by the development department, areas of cooperation with donors, features of scholarship processes and funds formed through fundraising were presented. Finally, the participants discussed the motivation and peculiarities of participation of university professors and students in fundraising.
The project “Strengthening the Fundraising Capacity of Displaced Universities” is implemented by Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University in cooperation with Mariupol State University with the organizational support of the NGO “Prostir Foundation” within the framework of the Program “Strengthening Displaced Ukrainian Universities for Sustainable Development” implemented by the Fulbright Program in Ukraine and funded by the Press, Education and Culture Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
